Most of you did agree that folk art is a thing of the past so I didn’t really hesitate to paint it. Although I did appreciate the art work seeing this all painted in a french grey is much more suited for today’s interiors.
The green undertones and painted swirls actually helped with the sanding process and make the piece that more interesting. I didn’t want to completely cover them with paint as I like them popping through.
A sweet crystal knob to finish it off.

oh, i love it now! Love the gray with the green peaking through. Before, all I noticed were all the painted swirls, now I can see the wonderful lines and curves of this piece–great job! I love the knob too.
