The Folk-Art Just Had To Go

Most of you did agree that folk art is a thing of the past so I didn’t really hesitate to paint it. Although I did appreciate the art work seeing this all painted in a french grey is much more suited for today’s interiors. 

The green undertones and painted swirls actually helped with the sanding process and make the piece that more interesting. I didn’t want to completely cover them with paint as I like them popping through. 
A sweet crystal knob to finish it off.

    oh, i love it now! Love the gray with the green peaking through. Before, all I noticed were all the painted swirls, now I can see the wonderful lines and curves of this piece–great job! I love the knob too.

    that is gorgeous, Sandy…I totally agreed with your dilemma whether to paint it or not, but you did the right thing and it is much better now!
