I can’t say that the peacock chair has ever really been on my wanted list but last week whilst visiting a local thrift store there it was. It was in very good condition with no damage to the cane and it had actually been really well looked after. It didn’t feel flimsy like some cane pieces so I snapped it up green and all.
Not one to let a piece remain unpainted for too long I hit it with the white paint and gee I’m so glad that I did.
Such a beautiful day yesterday I snapped these pictures whilst the sun was shining
This was the original cushion and to be honest I kinda like it for now.
The sweet pink vase with gorgeous hand painted cherry blossoms was a weekend market find and I must say for $1.50 I think this was my favourite thing of the week. We have a large cherry blossom at the entry of our home and it just reminded me of that. Sadly though after I took these images my mum accidently knocked the vase off the table and it smashed. I am determined now to find another one but I’m not sure that I ever will. If anyone out there comes across one of these beauties please let me know. Not sure if this is a mass produced vase or something a little harder to find.
Jordan just loves this chair and calls it the “kings chair”.

oh woops what a bugger about your Mum smashing the vase! Bet she feels terrible. I would have walked right by that green chair but white, well she is a beauty! Well done 🙂

Wow, that is an amazing chair, and it looks gorgeous painted white. The original cushion look nice with the new paint job, too!
That vase is simply beautiful, so sad to hear your mom knocked it over! Poor thing, she must have felt so bad! If worse comes to worse, you can always find a potter on Etsy to attempt to duplicate it for you. Just a thought.
Best,
Kimberly

It's really nicely painted! Is that spray paint?
I love your blog. I don't know how you find time to do all these things! Inspirational!

The chair is perfect – kinda retro now. It works well with the whole bo-ho decor style…..fringed pillows, billowy fabrics. Get your grove on. LOVE it.
