Sweet Roses

Hope you all had a good weekend. No markets for me as the rain just did not stop. I did mange to get stuck into some painting so will reveal those finished pieces soon. There is a beautiful house across the road from us that has been empty for some weeks. She has the most gorgeous rose garden and last night these roses were hanging over the fence calling my name to pick them. I could not resist thought I would be doing the owner a favour and pruning them at least.

Don't roses just add so much to a room Sandy. I remember a young guy trying to sneak a rose from our front garden once…he didn't see me crouched down, trimming the lavender hedge, and got a fright when I stood up and invited him in to find a really nice bloom. Then there was the woman who asked if she could pick some of our blooms for her church floral arrangement. She told us it was selfish to keep them all to ourselves:-/
    Enjoy your day.

WOW, look at that beautiful red roses! Well, if no one is enjoying the roses you might as well enjoy them…why waist them? 🙂

How sweet of you to help your neighbor prune her roses :). They look beautiful, I love when there is a dash of color like that.

You're more than welcome to help yourself to as many of my roses as you like as long as you do a little deadheading at the same time! Leigh

Hmm, nothing like the smell & visual impact of fresh roses. They look great, I'm glad that you didn't let them go to waste in all that bad weather.
