Posts haven’t seemed important this last week as the Queensland floods have been on our minds. Lucky for us here on Gold Coast we are all safe. My heart goes out to all that have been affected as the clean up now begins.
I was heading up to Bundaberg last week but unfortunately the roads were cut off and this made it impossible to get through. So I decided to spend the day thrifting instead. There were lots of finds that came home with me that day but the best by far was this gorgeous 1950’s adjustable Acme dress form.
Some vintage beads and pearls to dress her up.
Another interesting find was this old box that I spied in the corner of the thrift store. Love old boxes and especially ones with original lettering.
I removed all the electrical tape that was stuck to it and found it had these wonderful metal sides. It was wet and smelley and the kids were not impressed that it was going in the car. But it has since dried out and with a good clean it can now come into the house.
The sun is shining here today so we are hitting the beach. Hope your all having lovely weekend.

Oh your dressform and the box are both fabulous. So glad you didn't get flooded. Your vignette looks wonderful. I envy you going to the beach. How fun is that. Hugs, Marty

Hello Sandy, I'm your newest follower! LOVING your blog, your style is my dream style!
Wow, you scored some great finds, that dress form is amazing and I am in love with that box! It reminds me of the one that Sarah from A Beach Cottage has in her home. I love those old boxes so much, I am thinking of making a fake one! Just get some old wood, and some old hinges and such, and stenciling on some neat words. Of course, nothing beats real vintage …
I must say I am in love with your French Empire chandelier hanging from the bird cage stand! I have been looking for that exact style chandelier in that same size for some time, and have had no luck yet. I do have three bird cage stands, but so far, no French Empire chandelier! Wish me luck finding one, will you?
I am so much enjoying poking around on your blog and plan to spend some quality time here!
Best to you,
Kimberly

Gorgeous post …. love the photographs. My favorite is the silver pitcher with the flowers. Absolutely love silver, even when it becomes tarnished.
