I could not wait to transform this beautiful armoire that I picked up last week. Finds like these dont happen very often and I was so excited to bring this piece home. Originally black and yellow I have made it over using a gorgeous french blue and then dry brushed with a touch of white. Having the original colour black underneath made it perfect for sanding and destressing. Some might have been put off as there were no doors but I could imagine all my eiderdowns in it or even in an office or bathroom filled with all your bits and pieces.
I could have taken the easy option and just paintd it white but I wanted to bring out the detail and give it that french scandanavian feel.
Painting the inside white gives it a nice contrast.
Now to decide if its a keeper or a seller – maybe a keeper for a little while.

I have a few questions if you could help me…I was wondering if you had a step by step for this armoire. I have a similar piece I am working on & 1 – wante to known of you did sand it down? 2 – then apply the white paint (if so – what shade)? 3 – then apply the blue (paint/stain, & what shade)? 4 – then distress it? & 5 – add just a stain over all to give it a more rustic look?
I really appreciate it for I just have a love of revamping my furniture on a budget!!!
