You always wonder how such beautiful hand-made items end up not being appreciated. I picked this up in the op shop this week for a few bucks. Love the thought that someone has spent hours and hours working on this beautiful piece. All washed and ready to use as a throw.

Hi Sandy, Very true! But isn't it lovely the link of love between the original owner/maker and yourself. Someone you will never meet but who you are linked to by your love of the quilt, cheers Katherine

Hi Sandy…OOOOOHHHH MY goodness..How beautiful..I just LOVE the colours..

BUT we ALL know there are LOTS & LOTS of people out there who DONT appreciate things..
they probably think it is some daggy old NANNY thingey??
& i confess..in the long ago past… I probably have done the same thing?? Unfortunately….!!!!
I picked up a gorgeous crochet nanny blanket yesterday for $10.00 at the op shop..& IT is beautiful..the wool & the time crocheting would be worth 5 times that!!!

I do wonder about the same thing every time I find tomething that is handmade…. All the work that has been put into an item – maybe it has been made for someone as gift. Then to think that it has been thrown out or given to a flea market is sad.

For a few bucks!!!! WOW. I saw a really old crazy quilt this week that was so neat, but they wanted over 200 dollars for it and it looked like it had lots of wool—so no go.

Hi, I just came across your blog and I love it. You have so many pretty pictures and great ideas.
I'm from Norway, going to Australia in 4 months. Going to Sydney, Cairns and Melbourne. Do you know any interior shops I should visit? (Shabby Chic) I'd love to get some tips. Unfortunately there's a limit for how much I can bring back…

I have written about your blog in mine today – you will have many guests from Norway now… Have a great day!
