In the hot Queensland climate painted floors are the way to go. I am not a lover of carpet and just love these painted floors for insirpation for my lounge room. Clean, crisp and easy to maintain.
Very pretty. Where I live (Newfoundland, Canada) its far too cold for it though. I especially love the floors in the photo with the little girl writing on the black board!! Love your blog!!!
Hiya Sandy, Im so glad ive found someone else who likes painted floors! Our house has polished floorboards right through but the ones in the back family room were never stained by the former owners and are quite rough looking so i want to be different and paint them WHITE rather than sand and stain them. Hopefully i'll get started on it next week. I cant wait !
I have carpet in most rooms except wet areas..& I am way OVER carpet..
But then again…even though it is soooo HOT here at the minute… In winter it gets cold in melbourne so carpet is comforting?? if you know what I mean..
BUT up your way…BYRON has wonderful big huge white tiles throughout..floorboards upstairs with a little carpet in his bedroom & study…. WE & HE have found that has been a perfect mix.. (when up next would love to show you his "batchelor pad"!!)… you..me & mel could make it a lovely SHABBY pad for him.!! just joking…!!! xx andrea
I love the look of painted floorboards. Many years ago I saw a picture of a bedroom that had white painted floorboards & a big french style bed & lovely white linen & it has stuck in my mind since then. The boards were really wide & had been found under really old carpet when the when the owners renovated. Sarah P.S: The house that we are looking to rent looks like it has only carpet in the bedrooms which will suit me just fine!
