Sweet Wicker Chair & Storage Boxes

I have been having market & thrifting withdrawals so on my way home from work on friday I stopped by one of my favourite haunts. Picked up these two cute storage boxes, thought they would be great for magazines and bits & pieces. Not sure if they will stay this colour or get the white paint treatment tomorrow. It’s raining here tonight so I am hoping to make it to the markets tomorrow. Don’t think I have visited a market since early December so the thrill of a find is calling me.

I have had this wicker chair for sometime and left it out in the sun to fade and to achieve the look I wanted. Then I had these lovely linen covers made. Think its too nice to put outside now.

Great buy sandy..I think the boxes would actually look quite nice painted white..I envisaged one of them in a bathroom…with upright rolled up face towels and a collection of bath salts and soaps inside….at least thats what I would do with one of them..lol

Gee Sandy, those boxes are a great find, just a bit different to anything I've seen before. I'm with Anna, I'd go with the white paint SURPRISE!
And your chair looks great against your white floor, which appears to be standing the test of time so far.
Can I pleeease come to the markets with you one day, pretty pretty please???

Lovely boxes Sandy! I think Anna's suggestion is a great one. I love the colour of your chair, it is gorgeous and looks fantastic with those linen cushions – I agree, too nice for outside:) Enjoy the rest of the weekend and good luck with your treasure-hunting at the markets – Tina x

    Hi Sandy,
I have a thing for boxes too! I have various ones scattered through out our house, wicker, wood etc. I would give them a coat of paint too, maybe one white & the other maybe Tiffany blue (my fave colour at the moment!)
The chair looks 'aged' to perfection, I love the covers you have had made for it to.

Hey Sandy, always enjoy reading (and oooing and arrring) over your inspiring posts … the lovely rain is still falling … isn't it great listening to it hitting the roof !!! Your chair reminds me of the time, many many years ago, when I purchased a really inexpensive pine coffee table – that looked so "new" that I threw it in the pool, just to warp it and age it, prior to sanding it, and colour washing it in wonderful white 🙂

Love the boxes! I kinda like they way they look natural against your white back drop! But you have to do what makes you happy! I wonder what they were originally used for, I love the openings on the side. Well, happy hunting for more treasures. Kim

    Hi Sandy,

Thanks for your visit. I really appreciate your thoughts on colours. I have heard of that colour so I will keep that colour in mind. Its just so confusing at the moment…cream walls and french cream kitchen or white walls with white kitchen??? I dont know lol.

Love your ikea couch and the colour is stunning! Very similar to my Chesterfields I had made a few years back for the front lounge. They thought I was mad choosing a colour like that for chesterfields lol!!! Im thinking of going for the L shape couch from ikea in the same colour as it will be the 'BOYS' room and might stay a bit cleaner than white.

LOVING your painted floors too bits.
