A Sweet Garage Sale Find

I am not one for garage sales, always seem to drive around for hours with very little to show for it. But this garage sale was a bit different as I got to go a few days before the sale – thanks to a great tip off. When I heard that the couple were selling all their pieces due to the old dear entering a retirment home and the husband not quite ready for one thought he would sell his entire home contents and buy a motor home and head around Australia – can you believe that.

Anyway lets just say that I did not come home disappointed and purchased about 10 pieces. This cute leadlight cabinet was one of them, looks like the castors have been added on at some point but such a cute and useful piece. Think it would spoil this piece to paint it so for now its staying as is. Will post the other pieces in a future post.

    What a great buy Sandy!
I also think I would leave it as it is just for now, if you decide to paint it later so be it. I can't wait to see what your other pieces are.
    Have a great Easter!

Don't you dare paint! This appears to be a really lovely original oak drinks trolley c1930. The casters are probably replacements. If you must have a white piece sell that to someone else!!!!
(like me!)Sandy it is just beautiful, wish I had been with you I bet the other things you bought are just as good.

Oh my!! You got so lucky, I love it! I would agree with your comment on not wanting to paint it…..just yet. But I think if you need a black piece of furniture in your home, the stained glass is calling for it. Possibly a super shiny gloss black??

How pretty. I have a similar one but it has no door or castors. I painted mine white (of course) and it is just open shelved and stores some crystal and glass bits and pieces. Love it though and as it was it only cost $10
