I love seeing the potential in a piece of furniture and look forward to getting it home and transforming it into something beautiful – all ready for a new home. The stickers on this piece were so well stuck on that I have to remove them with a hot glue gun. Loads of drawers so heaps of room for plenty of clothes.
Sometimes replacing the knobs can work out expensive so with 12 on this piece I opted to leave the existing ones on and just paint them.
Being such a dark piece the destressing has really stood out.

How light and pretty it looks. It's amazing how a good coat of paint can improve a heavy and dull piece into something that can be the star in a room. Again well done!

Another fab makeover! I have purchased a wardrobe for my spare room which I am going to attempt. Just wondering if you finish your pieces off with a clear sealer of some sort or just leave as is… Just waiting to get the right advise before I launch into it. I have been reading a lot of blogs! Thanks 🙂

Hi Sandy. I love the way dark pieces really highlight the distressing once painted white. I hear you on the changing handles front…sometimes I've found it costs more than the piece did to begin with! It's gorgeous.

not sure if this is available over there but there is a product called Un-do it will take ANY sticker off of anything!! I used for scrapbooking and you can literally squirt right on the photo to move it once stuck, no damage. It is AMAZING!! if its stuck, Undo will take it off!!

Love it! Are you selling this one? The new owners could always change the handles anyway.

Such a huge transformation….I admit I really hate knotted pine furniture etc this transformation not only changes the colour but somehow even seems to change the way your eye sees the shape of the piece. It goes from being chunky and ugly to slim and elegant….cheers katherine

Hi Sandy…I LOVE looking at your blog and seeing how you transform furniture! Just stunning! I was wondering if you could help me…I'm after some crystal looking knobs (I don't know if that's what you call them but I hope you know what I'm talking about) for a dutchess. Would you be able to suggest somewhere I can buy them???
Kristen
You did a brilliant job!! Well done! Can't wait to start my projects tomorrow!
