Lovely Detailed Timber Panel – Guess what it really is?

Lots of pieces on the go this week but thought I would share this lovely detailed timber panel. I honestly did not know what is was but could see all the possabilites – a bed head maybe, displayed on the wall, with maybe chalk paint used  in the middle panels or even mirrors. So I just had to buy it anyway. On my way out a gentleman stopped me and said it was the top of a piano. Oh that makes sense now but I wonder where the rest of the piano was?
I wanted to keep this really rustic and have all the lovely detail stand out so lots of sanding took place here plus the clever use of a screw driver.
I can see my niece peeking over there in the back ground.

Hi Sandy…That is a really cool looking panel! It seems so big to be part of a piano but I guess it could be. I think it would look great as a headboard!~Hugs, Patti

That is a great panel Sandy! I love it and it does have so many possibilities. I would even just stand it against the wall as a feature. xx

Great piece and great detail. I think it would be a wonderful headborad. It will be fun to see what you decide to do with it.

That is gorgeous, Sandy and no I never would have guessed what it was! Great idea using the screwdriver (which I am guessing you used to scratch the paint out of the grooves?) Could you paint the panels in blackboard paint and use it for a shop sign for your market booth or is it too heavy?

Piano didn't even enter my thoughts. Maybe you should put old sheet music in the panels as a reference to it's past life;o)
    Great job as always Sandy.

Hi Sandy, I can see it as a hat/coat rack with the mirror idea maybe and some lovely large rustic hooks, cheers Katherine

This would make a gorgeouse headboard! Maybe it was part of a mantle on a fireplace or something. This is quite a valuable find!

    Love your blog,
