I found this sweet blue and white ginger jar style lamp base at the thrift store during the week but instead of putting this one into my store I decided I would make over a shade and keep it.
I actually didn’t have a lot of confidence that it would turn out how I wanted so I didn’t even bother taking a before shot of the shade. It was lime green and not the best to look at so I recovered it with this gorgeous pink and white candy stripe fabric.
I put a lovely pink braid at the base and a vintage trim around the top to finish it off.
A huge pile of sheet music that I found on my travels this week some dated from the 1940’s.
I loved the look of the lamp so I decided to use the same fabric on another project which I hope to show you later in the week.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of you that read my blog and purchase goodies from my shop space. Lots of the comments have no email reply but you all take the time to send me a comment so – thank-you . Your support means the world to me and makes me smile.

The lamp is so beautiful–if I was you I would have a hard time not keeping everything you do!

You did a beautiful job covering that lampshade! Working with stripes can be challenging.
FARMHOUSE PORCH
I have two old shadeless blue and white lamps similar to yours I was considering giving away. But you have given them a second chance at life. I may steal your idea! Thanks♥

Lovely! May I say I don't think I would have had the courage to go with that colour scheme, but it really works and LOOKS FAB!

Love it! Did you use spray adhesive glue to stick the fabric on the lamp shade? I am also wanting to do something similar to my new lamp shade!
I am also devo when I picked up one of the lamp bases from your shop I hesitated on the other one and the turquoise side table yesterday. I quickly went back today at lunch and both were gone!!! 🙁

Sandy,
I would love to see you do a feature on the different shades and colours you select for your projects.
You inspired me to paint a dresser blue a few months ago when I saw one of your newest projects featured. It would be interested to see your inspiration behind the colour choices.
